5 Creative Mason Jar Meals for Camping

Shrimp Stir-Fry

This easy home-cooked meal is a more difficult at the campsite—cutting veggies on a picnic table can take time away from hiking and playing with your kids. As a mason jar meal you get the best of both worlds: time to play and a delicious meal to eat.

Jar Layers, bottom to top:

  • 2 cups 2/3-cooked brown rice
  • 8 to 10 thawed, peeled and deveined shrimp
  • 1/3 cup diced raw broccoli
  • 1/3 cup raw snap peas
  • 1/3 cup raw diced zucchini
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp. seafood seasoning blend
  • 1 pinch each salt and pepper

Pour your mason jar ingredients into a hot pan with olive oil. Top with a squeeze of lemon juice, and serve with a Caesar salad.

Jar Layers, bottom to top:

  • 2 cups half-cooked sausage
  • 1 cup chopped raw bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup chopped raw red onion
  • 1 cup raw spinach
