TD Five Boro Bike Tour

Sign up for the world's largest recreational ride, and bike through New York's Five Boroughs: Manhattan, the Bronx, Brooklyn and Staten Island. This is one of the few opportunities to ride this route without worrying about vehicle traffic.

The open registration date for the 2014 event has not been announced, so keep an eye on the website.

Falmouth Road Race

The Falmouth Road Race had 12,000 participants in 2013 and attracts walkers, fun-runners and veteran racers. 2014 will mark the 42nd year of the 7-mile race that begins on Water Street and finishes on the beach in Falmouth Heights. All participants will receive entry to the Finish Line Ball Field Party.

Registration opens in May.

Disneyland Half Marathon

  • Anaheim, California

Bring the whole family to enjoy "The Happiest Race on Earth." See your favorite Disney characters and enjoy entertainment along the course. The race starts at Disney's California Adventure Park, continues through the streets of Anaheim, and ends near the Disneyland Hotel.

Registration for the 2014 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend opens in January.

Air Force Marathon

  • Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio

The race starts and ends at the national museum of the U.S. Air Force. The marathon is a Boston qualifier, but the event is also walker-friendly. There's an annual pasta dinner the night before the race with performances by the Air Force Band of Flight.

Registration for the Air Force Marathon opens on January 1. There will be a special New Year's Resolution discount if you sign up before 11:59 p.m. EST on January 1.

Army Ten-Miler

  • Washington, D.C.

Put on by the Military District of Washington, the Army Ten-Miler begins and ends at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. With 35,000 registered participants in 2013, the event is one of the largest 10-mile races in the world.

The ING New York City Marathon

The New York City Marathon is the largest marathon in the world with more than 45,000 finishers every year. The race finishes in Central Park.
