Best Places to Eat

Boston Favorite
Pammy's

928 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139

This is the top place to eat in Boston for a regular meal or for carbo loading, say Racertrips™ Ambassadors Whitney DeSena and Michael Parello.

"While most people will point visitors in search of good Italian food to the North End, I would argue that the best Italian food is at Pammy's," Michael says.

Whitney adds that Pammy's is ideal, "If you want to carbo load, but you're also a bit of a foodie."

Whitney and Michael both recommend the Malfadine a delicious pasta dish with braised rabbit. Whitney's also a fan of the raw brussels, while Michael recommends the Casarecce with fresh wild mushrooms and swiss chard if rabbit isn't your thing.

Founded in 2017, Pammy's has been ranked as the Best New Restaurant by Boston Magazine and made the short list for Best New Restaurants in America by Bob Appetit. The restaurant is located in an assuming stand-alone building, but the atmosphere is warm and inviting. "It will make you feel like you're eating at your family's dinner table," Michael says.

Although Pammy's is a few short miles from the finish line area, it's worth the trip. It's a short ride in a cab or rideshare and is also accessible by mass transit.

Great Place for Local Cuisine
The Daily Catch

323 Hanover St, Boston, MA 02113

This is a slightly upscale seafood extravaganza that Racertrips Ambassador Brianna Austin is slightly obsessed with. Sourcing super-fresh ingredients, they offer any kind of pasta combined with any kind of seafood. Their most famous dishes, however, are the squid ink pasta and something called the Lobster Fra Diavolo (for one or two) - a giant tin bowl of pasta, clams, mussels and whole lobsters! It's an impressive sight and so tasty that the Daily Catch is basically a Boston requirement now. (Note: It's cash only so come prepared.)

Great Place to Carbo Load
Greg's Restaurant

821 Mt Auburn St, Watertown, MA 02472

"If you're preparing for a long run by carbo-loading, Greg's Restaurant is where the locals go," says Racertrips Ambassador Dawn Shea. The location and prices are great. You will love this place because they give you so much food you need to get a take-out bag! "I have been coming here for years, and it's my favorite place," Dawn says.

Great for Vegetarians
Life Alive Organic Café

765 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139

"If you're preparing for a long run by carbo-loading, Greg's Restaurant is where the locals go," says Racertrips Ambassador Dawn Shea. The location and prices are great. You will love this place because they give you so much food you need to get a take-out bag! "I have been coming here for years, and it's my favorite place," Dawn says.

Great for Families
Boston Public Market

100 Hanover St., Boston, MA 02108

"The Boston Public Market is a great lunch option for the whole family," says Racertrips Ambassador Whitney. This year-round indoor market has nearly 40 local vendors, so everyone is sure to find something they like. Indoor and outdoor tables are available, as is a kids play area. They also validate parking for the Parcel 7 garage on Sudbury Street, giving you 3 hours to check out the area for $3.
