Experiment with Fall Eats
We already mentioned the warm latte that tastes even better after a long fall run, but there's plenty of other delicious fall food options to ring in the season. From protein pumpkin pancakes to oatmeal apple muffins, we can hardly wait to try out the season's best.
Focus on HIIT Workouts
It's not just your imagination; life does get busier in the fall. Between kids going back to school, jobs picking up speed after the summer and the fact that days truly do get shorter, it's easy to feel a little crazed. That's why you should practice getting in a great workout in a short amount of time this season. Whether it's squeezing in a sweat session in the mornings before work or knocking it out before the kid's evening soccer game, high intensity interval training will give you the most bang for your buck.
Recruit a Running Buddy
Speaking of the lack of light, some of us don't like to run alone once it gets colder and darker, which is why fall is the ideal time to find a running buddy. Team up with your runner friends, recruit someone at the office to run with after work or join a local running group to find other fitness-focused people to log your miles with. It'll give you peace of mind (and probably improve your time!).
Try out Trail Running
Trails are great any time of year, but it's hard to beat the sound of leaves crunching under your feet. Plus, part of getting outside and taking advantage of the fall weather also means switching up your routine. Ask other runners (or do some googling), and find the most picturesque runs in your area. Make a list of your favorites, and work your way down.

Splurge on Fall Running Attire
Much like shoes, new activewear and gear are also released during the fall season. Be on the lookout for doorbuster sales, especially around Black Friday and the holidays, and stock up on what you need for colder weather. Don't forget the basics: caps, gloves, reflective gear, jackets and cold-weather tights.
Forget Aesthetics for a While
Have you ever heard of a fall bod? No? Us either, and we couldn't be more thankful. All that talk of summer bods and bikini season can seem downright depressing after a while, which makes us pretty happy to say hello to fall where how you look seems to leave the conversation for a while. This season, commit to running in a way that makes you FEEL good—not just look it.
